Tour description

Wander the steep, narrow streets of what people often refer to as the village within the city. Alfama is one of the few districts of Lisbon not destroyed by the 1755 earthquake.

Decorated with beautiful "azulejos" (tiles), the steep, winding alleyways of this neighborhood give way to stunning views over a sea of terracotta roofs and the Tagus River. The aromas of traditional Portuguese cuisine, the echoes of Fado melodies and the chatter of Portuguese elders, make this neighborhood one of the most authentic in Lisbon!

You will see the most emblematic monuments of Lisbon, such as Rossio square, Dona Maria II theater, Sao Domingos church, Figueira square, Sao Jorge castle, Portas do Sol viewpoint, Sé cathedral.

Lace up your most comfortable shoes and lose yourself in time Historic Lisbon with our expert tour guides, who know lots of fun and historical facts about Lisbon's culture and history.

MEETING POINT is in D. Pedro IV Square (Rossio), find our yellow jersey team with yellow umbrellas near the statue, right in the middle.
