Do you want to know Marrakech from the hand of a local? My name is Hamid, and I have been an official Spanish-speaking guide for more than 14 years. I have been lucky enough to make my passion my job. He enjoyed showing travelers every corner of my city, its customs and traditions. I wait for you in Marrakesh.
WALKING THROUGH THE SOUK:
After meeting at the meeting point we will start the tour entering the Medina. We will walk through the neighborhood of the 7 curves , one of the most typical founded in the s. XI. On this walk we can discover the exterior of one of the sacred patrons of Marrakech, the Maosoleo Moulay Laksour . The visit will continue through the Mouassine Quarter , with its famous 16th century fountain. This district is one of the liveliest and makes an introduction to the most original markets, such as the Grand Souk of Marrakech , where you can enjoy the city , one of the excellent memories that you will keep of the city, (we crossed the dyers , the copper and bronze craftsmen, the blacksmiths' guild and the fur auctions , etc.).
As we delve into the social life, we will carry out a socio-cultural review on the way of life of the local people and the most impressive anecdotes about the city in a very charming walking tour.
On our way, we will observe the exteriors of one of the religious centers of the city , the Ben Youssef Madrasa , and its surroundings such as the mosque , the library , the Almoravid dome and the Marrakech museum .
We will stroll through Marrakech avoiding the numerous motorcycles, donkeys and thousands of tourists, on our way we will find the Dar Si Said Palace, and the Bahia Palace , built in the 19th century as residences of great leaders of the time, on this tour we will cross the souk Rahba Laqdima, the Andalusi Quarter, Riad Zitoune Jdid.
The most important monuments of Marrakech:
Our next destination will be the Jewish Quarter (Mellah) , the Souk of Spices and Plaza Badía . And we will arrive at the Kasbah , where the Saadian Tombs dating from the 16th century are located, you will love the mausoleums of great beauty and decorated with mosaics in which numerous sultans, warriors and servants of the Saadian Dynasty are buried.
We will stop at Bab Agnaou , to take a photo of one of the 19 gates of Marrakech , built in the 12th century in the Almohad empire, it is one of the most beautiful and well preserved of the walls of Marrakech . We will pass the exterior of the Royal Palace and in front of the tomb of the founder of Marrakech , Youssef Ibn Tachafine .
Our intense Free Tour Marrakech Essential ends in the most important square in Marrakech, Jemaa el Fna, the most central place in the Medina , where you can take the famous orange juice or take the typical photo with the locals next to snakes.
NB. Exterior visit of the monuments:
On the tour we will visit named places without entering the interior, except the Bahia Palace (7 euros) or the Madrasa ben Youssef (2 euros) that only visit one of the 2 in the morning hours, in the afternoon we do NOT enter either.
NB. In the months of July and August, the duration of the afternoon tour will be 3 hours more or less.
Meeting point: Hotel Islane (located in front of the Koutoubia)
I will be at the door of the Hotel Islane with a lilac pennant
