Purple Basque Tours is the label I gave to my alternative tours since I came to Bilbao and fell in love with the city and the Guggenheim Museum (especially). My name is Sanna Weaver, not from Bilbao originally, but a true blue local, something you'll experience in my tours, which are very alternative, original, purple (the favourite colour of sensitive, free spirit people ) and most enjoyable. Because of my love for Bilbao, I try to keep the tours up to 8 people as I want you to have fun and take the most out of it! That's why offering tours to people from all over the world who are open to explore the city in a non tourist way, is my passion! I would love to show you "my" city the way "I see it" and introduce you to the Basque culture and history. Join us to a Purple Basque Tour!!!

Tour description

The tour is of 2 hour and 40 minutes and it's a very beautiful, easy walking around the modern city of Bilbao with lots of everyday stories.

We'll start the tour outside the Guggenheim Museum, talking about the story behind its building, the Guggenheim Effect and how did they built the emblematic Museum from New York to Bilbao, the famous and so-far-unique GUGGENHEIM EFFECT!

We'll start from the museum and after its presentation, we'll walk along the most beautiful part of the city, on which we'll enjoy some of the most beautiful buildings, old and renovated, because of the Guggenheim Effect.
After that, we'll have a brief brake in one of the most beautiful parks of the city, in which you can have a coffee while I would tell you very interesting facts about the Basque Country.

After the break, we will continue from the Gran Via, the most popular and busy (commercial speaking) part of the New City (Ensanche) which starts where the Old City finishes. So, that way you can have a very satisfying first view of the whole city.

After enjoying some of the most important for the everyday locals life buildings, we'll finish our tour inside another emblematic building, which is a surprise for all of you (but I'm sure that you'll love it).
