Unique Porto! An alternative tour with the best views of the city
Tour description
After 5 years living in Porto, there was a year when I discovered how much I loved this wonderful job as a tour guide, and every day I enjoy it more.
The experience we offer is different: we will move a bit away from the tourist center to enjoy moments of tranquility. We will visit some of the most important monuments, but we will also stroll through local streets (some of the few that still remain) where tourists are not usually found. Streets with ordinary people, with neighborhood life, where we can see the most authentic Porto.
At the same time, we will visit areas with panoramic views and places that do not usually appear in tourist guides and that very few people know about.
Porto is a very touristy city and, logically, there are more and more visitors... that's why sometimes the center no longer seems so Portuguese. On this walk, we guarantee that you will see the most authentic side: clothes hanging on balconies, neighbors in the streets, bars and taverns where you can eat wonderfully and at a very good price.
I promise you will leave with your phone full of incredible photos!
Some of the places we will visit (may vary depending on what we agree on):
- The new Mercado do Bolhão
- The Chapel of Santa Catarina, with its impressive tile mosaic
- The romantic Café Majestic
- Praça da Batalha
- The Fontainhas neighborhood, a typical Portuguese neighborhood with stunning views
- We will cross the Infante Bridge to enjoy the views from above and see four other bridges
- We will walk along some paths on the Vila Nova de Gaia side, from where we will have different perspectives of Porto
- We will cross the Luis I Bridge and pass through La Ribeira (the only area with more people)
- We will climb to some of the most beautiful viewpoints until we reach the impressive Vitória Viewpoint, where we will stop at the O Lanchinho tavern to try the best codfish cakes
- We will finish by climbing to the Cathedral, where this wonderful walk ends.
At lunchtime, we can also show you one of the most typical taverns in Porto, where Rosinha —with her apron and her smile— usually welcomes visitors (she appears in some photos).
If you want to experience a different, calm, and authentic experience in this city, this is your walk!
I await you with a big Galician smile.
