Essential Free walking tours of Porto

I did the tout with Diogo who was an amazing guide. He gave interesting informations and great recommandations.

Diogo was the perfect guide for our 2.5 hour walking tour around Porto. At first I thought this might be a little long, but at the end of our walk, I was so happy we chose to do this. Diogo had so much great information about the city of Porto and Portugal. He had such a thoughtful path for our walk, ensuring that we did not have to walk too much uphill (only once!). He was mindful about being too much in the sun, making sure we had shade to stand in (it was not hot in March anyway), and that we could all hear well. He answered all questions we had and shared all the "good, bad, and ugly" about Porto and Portugal, things I really appreciated. He was inclusive, considerate, kind, and so informative. You can tell he has a deep love for his city and country and was enthusiastic about sharing all of this with his visitors. I could not recommend him enough. And please make sure to either have cash to pay him at the end (what you think it's worth - we thought it was very worthwhile), or simply ask him for his PayPal. He doesn't pressure you at all which was really nice, but as someone who enjoyed his guidance, I think it is more than fair to say he should be paid for his time and passion :)

What a great walk to get your bearings of Porto. Raquel gave us a great overview of the history and culture of Porto.

No thrills. When I booked a two and a half hour tour I thought I was going to get a lot of info about Porto and it's POIs. I was bored halfway through the tour and quite disappointed in the places and stops we made.

We were quite lucky because we got a private tour of Caoi, but it was just great! He adapted the tour to our wishes, answered all of our questions and was just a really nice and fun guy. The tour was perfect to get a good impression of the city and to get to know nice spots, we can definitely recommend to take a tour with him!! Thanks a lot!

I couldn't have asked for a better tour. Andre combines humor with every one of his stories and tells it in a really memorable way. You can ask him anything, even not related to the tour and he will have an answer for you. He also speaks great English.

Amazing tour that we would definitely recommend. Caoi has a huge knowledge of local history, politics, community, and so on. Accordingly, he is able to both accomodate individual interests and swiftly adapt the tour, and will also provide great tips on what to do, eat, visit, how to get there, etc... So, be sure to book the tour early during your stay, as we had to postpone several recommendations until our next trip to Porto!

We had Pedro as our guide and he was great! He had awesome stories and facts to share with the group and you could tell he was very passionate about sharing them. Unfortunately on the day, we had terrible weather (rain and wind), but Pedro did very well with redirecting our group to drier places and looking after us! Pedro had a great sense of humour and I really enjoyed how he mixed up the stories (taking facts from different parts of the time line), instead of one long story from start to finish. We ended the tour with learning a wee bit about francesinha‘a (which are a must try when visiting Porto)!

Raquel was listening to groups wishes, gave many tips and answered for every question. It was very helpfull that she send a list of recommendations. I highly recommend 😊

This walking tour in Porto was a great experience. We visited all the main sights in the historic area, learning about the history and culture of the city along the way. Our guide, Raquel, was incredibly helpful and shared lots of useful tips. She also told us fun facts about Porto and made the experience even more enjoyable with her engaging stories. It was great chatting with her between sights and getting a glimpse into life in Porto. We also learned about the history behind some of the city’s most iconic monuments and their significance both in the past and today. Highly recommend this tour!
