Hello! My name is Jose, I am a tourist guide accredited by the Junta de Andalucía and I am from Cádiz, capital of Cádiz, which would be the same as saying that I am from Cadi Cadi, as we say here. I love showing off my city and recommending the most magical and unforgettable places in Cádiz. I have more than 7 years of experience in the tourism sector, because I love meeting people, dealing with the public, showing my city as I told you before, and trying to make you fall in love with it, as I already am. I love making people discover unforgettable corners so that the traveler wants to return. In addition to this, I really like sports, technology, history and culture.

Tour description

Welcome travelers to the first free tours of "La Pepa", welcome to the year 1812, we find ourselves in a turbulent year in which Spain, invaded by Napoleonic France, politicians have to take refuge in the south of the peninsula to escape the siege.

Strategically located between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic, between Europe and Africa, Cádiz becomes an impregnable place in which these men project what the nation of the future will be like.

The Island of León first, and Cádiz later, received illustrious deputies from the peninsula and America summoned to draft a constitutional text that would seal the rights and freedoms of the future liberated Spain.

To do this, we are going to delve into the Cádiz of La Pepa, a tour to show the liberal city of this memorable era. Discover the houses of the deputies, the places of gatherings, the first draw of the national lottery, the commemorative monuments, the most controversial articles, the squares and streets that were the protagonists of one of the most important moments in the history of this city. We will delve into the way of being of the people of Cádiz, in a city that during those years doubled its population and surprised with its character, its joy and its culture.

I invite you to learn the secrets of a route where you will see that it has all the necessary ingredients to enjoy, learn about its history, visit other parts of the city and most importantly, that you take home a great memory. In this Cádiz de la Pepa, you will also discover many curiosities, such as the place where the first national lottery was held or where the first French omelette was created and why that name. And to finish with our recipe and have the best possible dish, you will have at hand the best tips and recommendations to continue getting to know the city and its province, its gastronomy, its emblematic sites and many more things.
And all this to the cry of...

LONG LIVE THE PEPA!

*Both the meeting point and the end of the route will be in the Plaza de España but at different points within the same square.
