Hi, I'm Jill and I've lived in London for 20 years. I've been a tour guide for London, the Opera House and even a dinosaur exhibition. I've also worked in many of the royal palaces and popular venues throughout the city so can help with further activities and visits during your stay.

Tour description

I'd love to invite you on a lovely wander along the river Thames' Southbank.

I'll introduce you to it's current splendour whilst delving into it's dark and mischievous past.

We'll start at the south end of Waterloo Bridge, next to the Lord Lawrence Olivier statue (it's the one where he's doing Hamlet) by the National Theatre, the launching pad of some of the world's most renowned actors and stage shows. From there we'll move along the river exploring the Southbank's commercial and tordid past including Gabriel's Wharf, the Oxo Tower, Tate Modern and the Globe Theatre.

Notoriously famed as the promiscuous side of the river during the Tudor and Elizabethan eras we'll then pass the Clink Prison, the Golden Hind, Borough Market, London Bridge, HMS Belfast and then finish at the world famous Tower Bridge.

Along the way we'll have views of Somerset House, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tower of London.

It's a lovely time to experience this part of London as the sun is setting and the city lights illuminate the beautiful architecture and skyline.

Looking forward to sharing this with you.

This was a really interesting tour along the Southbank with both historical points of interest and pop culture references. Bonus was it ended with a beautiful sunset! Jill was interesting and spoke very passionately throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and wouldn't hesitate to recommend or join another of her tours myself!
