Marrakech magic: a journey through history, culture and colors
Tour description
Our walking guided tour will start from a meeting point near to the Al KUTUBIYA MOSQUE which gonna be our first historical site to stop by, which is the largest mosque in Marrakech with its magnificent minaret, which a symbol of the city, and its gardens. Next we will stop by the Yousse Ben Tachafin’s mausoleum, and Bab Agnaou which is one of the 19th gates of the old Madina quarter that leads to rest historical sights we gonna see later. The next stop will be in Saadian Tombs which requires a 100 MAD of the entrance fees (about 10 euros), an ancient royal necropolis and a hidden gem that dates back to the 16th century. In few minutes walking we will visit the Bahia Palace, an exquisite example of the Moroccan architecture which stands as a tassement to the grandeur of Moroccan architecture and rich history, dates back to the late of the 19th century which requires an entrance fees of 100 MAD as well. Passing by the Mellah ( the Jewish quarter ), and the Kisbah ( a citadel and royal district dates back to the 12th century). After that we will dive into the Marrakech souks or traditional markets, which are more than just a shopping destination, they are living, breathing entities where local life unfolds and a spectacle that worth experiencing. And end up our walking guided tour in Jamaa El Fna square, the city’s main square and Marrakech land mark dates back to 11th century right after the foundation of the city.
