Authentic Quito in flavors: local eateries, gastronomic culture, and Ecuadorian chocolate

They say the best way to know a city is through its food.

In this Free Gastronomic Walking Tour through La Mariscal and La Florest, Kunakkuna Experiences invites you to discover the true taste of Quito through its traditional eateries, local culture, and the best Ecuadorian chocolate, globally recognized for the quality of its fine aroma cocoa.

This is not a tour of tourist restaurants. It is an experience to eat like a local from Quito, walk through lively neighborhoods, and understand how gastronomy is part of the city's cultural identity.

We will start in the vibrant neighborhood of La Mariscal, a sector where urban art and traditional eateries coexist with the daily life of Quito.

Here we will taste typical dishes that are part of the local identity:

  • Mote with chicharrón – a classic from the Ecuadorian Sierra (approx. $2.50)
  • Ecuadorian ceviche with an innovative touch (approx. $2.50)
  • Traditional encebollado in a contemporary version (approx. $2.50)
  • Renewed Quito-style tigrillo (approx. $3.00)
  • Ice cream with cheese – a surprising sweet and salty combination (approx. $2.50)
