Short hike on Montjuic mountain
Tour description
Montjuïc mountain has always been present in Barcelona's history, from the city's origins to the present day.
It's a place full of surprises. The city was built with stones from its quarries, and later, Barcelona's Jewish community used it as a final resting place. More recently, its forests and fields were beautified for the 1929 International Exposition and the 1992 Olympic Games. These events left wonderful traces: the exhibition pavilions (including a Mies van der Rohe building and the National Art Museum), a royal palace, several gardens, and even a replica of an ancient Greek theater! Our hike takes us through the gardens, along the Olympic site, and downhill. We end at the top of the hill, where we can admire the mighty fortress and discover breathtaking views of Barcelona!

IMPORTANT: This is a short hike with historical information. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes and bringing water. There are several bus stops along the route, so you can end the hike at any time. At the summit, you can take a bus to the city center. If you prefer, from there you can also take the modern cable car to the middle of the mountain or the historic cable car to Barceloneta.
