Secrets of Ground Zero Walking Tour

On this free walking tour, we explore some hidden, lesser-known, and under-the-radar parts of the Ground Zero area to learn about the destruction and rebirth of the World Trade Center, as well as the global aftermath of 9/11.

Here is some of what you will learn:

  • Why a passageway to a subway station has a special connection to 9/11.
  • Where to find a special separate 9/11 memorial nearby.
  • The story of a massive maritime evacuation and see where it took place.
  • What caused many first responders to do a double-take while searching for victims and survivors in a park near the rubble.
  • Why one office tower was rebuilt so soon after 9/11 when everything else was delayed.
  • The memorial’s official title and why the designers chose it.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • This tour is in ENGLISH.
  • This tour mostly focuses on areas around Ground Zero/WTC and concludes at the memorial; you are free to then explore the memorial plaza further on your own.
