Itinerary: Discovering Roman Lugo

We'll begin our tour of Lugo's historic center in the Plaza Mayor, next to the City Hall. From there, we'll embark on a journey back in time to discover ancient Lucus Augusti, the best-preserved Roman city in Galicia. We'll walk along the Roman Wall, unique in the world for having its entire perimeter intact and declared a World Heritage Site.

We will visit emblematic squares such as Armanyá, Santo Domingo, and do Mercado, and see the exteriors of historic churches like San Pedro and San Froilán, the city's patron saint. We will end the tour in Praça do Campo, next to the Domus do Mitreo, where we will explain its history as a 1st-century Roman house from the outside.
