Evening Tour of Diocletian’s Palace with a True Local

The tour lasts 1 hour
Available in English

Description

Explore Diocletian's Palace in the evening with a true local who literally grew up playing hide-and-seek in its streets (don’t worry, I promise not to make you hide!). On this 1-hour tour, we’ll wander through hidden alleys, lively squares, and ancient Roman corners while uncovering fascinating stories about emperors, everyday life, and how Split transformed from a palace into the vibrant city it is today. You’ll hear about secret passages, legends, and maybe even why the Sphinx seems to be silently judging everyone who walks by.

This isn’t just a history lesson, expect humour, insider tips, and fun facts that you won’t find in guidebooks. Whether you want to feel like a Roman for an hour, impress your friends with palace trivia, or just enjoy a relaxed evening walk with a local who knows all the shortcuts (and a few embarrassing childhood stories), this tour has something for everyone. Come curious, leave smiling, and maybe even with a new favourite story from Split!

Hi! I’m a licensed local guide from Split, and yes, I’m one of those people who can say that Diocletian's Palace was literally my playground growing up. While other kids had parks, I had 1,700-year-old Roman walls, hidden alleyways, and ancient squares to run around in (not a bad deal, right?). Over the years, I swapped hide-and-seek for storytelling, but my connection to the palace never changed. Now I get to share it with you, not as a list of dates and facts, but as a living place full of stories, legends, and everyday life. Expect a mix of history, local secrets, a bit of humor, and probably a few things you won’t find in guidebooks. My tours are relaxed, fun, and personal, more like exploring the city with a local friend who knows all the good stories and a few shortcuts. Join me, and let’s see Split the way I grew up experiencing it.
