We saw a wide range of neighborhoods, markets, historic sites, and everyday local life. It gave us a much better feel for Addis beyond the main attractions. Our guide was knowledgeable and open about the history and culture, which made everything more meaningful. Absolutely worth it.

Nice young man took me alone on the tour and it was exceeded all expectations to include a combination of taxi, car hailing and walking for more than 4 hours ! Undoubtedly one of the best walking tours I have done! Getachew is very friendly, knowledgeable and flexible to adapt the schedule and itinerary to our needs. For example, I had more free time and our tour ended up being a full day tour across the city, visiting local places! He is very enthusiastic and attentive, and I was feeling safe throughout the day at all places. Most definitely recommend!!

My tour with Geta was the best I've ever done through Guruwalk! He was extremely attentive, taking good care of the group and providing all the information we wanted to know about the history of Addis and the places we visited. Some colleagues and me did a tour with Guruwalk and we reached out to Getachew, who was very spontaneous about it and flexible about our requirements. Unfortunately we couldnt go through the complete tour because the flight was quite long and we needed to get some rest, however, I think that the time with our guide was quite interesting and he has good insides into Addis. Very exciting tour!!

I accepted an offer from Gatachew and rented a car for the day. It turned out to be a fantastic idea, even though I spent most of the time with his friend, Migbaru, who was an excellent guide. Together, we managed to visit several places in Addis that I could never have explored on my own. We made stops for honey wine, a coffee ceremony, a bar, and dinner at a local spot. Thank you so much!

Getachew is the best guru I have had in a long time. He personalized to me the trip, showing me what I was interested. Provided a lot of historic and cultural tips, as well as interesting information without being monotonous. I also appreciate that he protected me and gave me advice about how to survive at Addis. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and his passion for the city was evident from the start. He shared fascinating stories about Addis Ababa’s history, including its establishment by Emperor Menelik II, and its importance in African diplomacy, being the headquarters of the African Union. Each stop was brought to life with anecdotes and context that I would have missed if exploring on my own. The tour covered key landmarks like the National Museum of Ethiopia, where we saw the famous fossil, Lucy, and learned about Ethiopia’s ancient history. The visit to the Holy Trinity Cathedral was another highlight, with its stunning architecture and historical significance. We also stopped by Entoto Hill for breathtaking panoramic views of the city, and our guide explained the importance of the surrounding mountains. We also went to the Market where I was exposed to the local trading of locals.

Great guide and person. Really cares about the experience of his guests. We took his offer to rent a car for the day (25 USD) to see more of the city. It was a good time.
