The tour was wonderful, from the beginning to the end we walked with Paul, who accompanied us through the tour with illustrative pictures and information about Carcassonne and the Second World War. He answered all our questions with kindness.
We leave with a beautiful memory of the tour and we trust recommend it!

A fantastic, interesting and very moving walk. Paul had obviously done a lot of background work for this walk and it was clearly a passion of his. I learnt a lot about the heroism of some of the local people of Carcassonne during the war - and also the collaborators. The walk was just the right length and done in such an interesting way. At the end the 6 of us broke out into spontaneous applause. I won’t forget this walk. Brilliant.

I really enjoyed this tour. Paul gave us some background information regarding WW2 and to help the group understand the position the people of France were in. He bought to life the differences of living in “Free France” and how that changed further when the Nazi’s finally took control. Loved that he was able to bring the stories of the resistance to life with real photographs of the people involved. I learnt a lot and went away with a better understanding of how difficult life was for the French people. Great tour, thanks Paul.

We very much enjoyed the walk. Found it informative giving us interesting detail about the people who lived in France at time of WW2 with many fascinating stories delivered in a knowledgable and humorous manner. So much nicer learning about people, not just dates and buildings. I wish Paul had been my history teacher. A must Walk to do in Carcassone. We will now look for more Geru walks elsewhere.
