Paul knows his stuff!😁 Lovely gentleman with excellent diction, so easy to understand, even over barking dogs and low flying aircraft! We toured the lower town then after the tour walked to the old cite.

We both felt this tour was very interesting and informative reminding us of the personal risks and support certain individuals gave to assist France during its time of great need. It gave us a wider insight to the City of Carcassonne and just the castle, worth your time in doing this tour, recommended 👍

Paul certainly knows his stuff. He had lots of information and the photos were an added bonus to add some personal interest. It was a very hot day so Paul made the most of the shade available. He is obviously passionate about this history of carcassonne.

Very moving tour, not what you expect to do in Carcassonne but something you should do.

Carcassonne is known for its medieval fortress, while the lower city (la Bastide) is normally outside of the spotlight. Paul grabs that spotlight, carries it across a few centuries, and drops it on several locations in the lower city during the World War II period. For me, it was the perfect complement to the more popular medieval sights - I now feel as if I know a whole other side of Carcassonne that I would have never gotten to experience otherwise. Paul has a very engaging way of transporting you through time, with the use of original pictures and key locations, and introducing powerful stories of ordinary Carcassonnians grappling with big "H" history. This walking tour is clearly a labour of love and Paul's passion for history is infectious. 100% recommend!

Well worth it! Paul has a great knowledge of Carcassone history during WW2 and offered lots of interesting insights into the life in the region.

Paul was very knowledgeable, and encouraged questions as we went. He shared a lot of knowledge about how WW2 impacted the local area, from day to day life to national politics and told great stories about local people.

Paul was an amazing guide. A set of pictures and his brilliant stories accompanied us through Carcassonne in the Second World War. Two and a half hours of great narratives and very interesting historical figures. Would 100% recommend!

Paul is a really human and kind person, he made a really good job by speaking in a way we could easily understand both the history and the language as we are not English. Paul makes the tour ludic, playful and interesting. We had to leave before the tour ended but we really wanted to stay. What a wonderful choice we made in choosing Paul to lead our WWII tour of Carcassonne. It was the best way to see the new city while learning the history. There was only 2 of us on the tour which was fabulous as Paul was easy to hear and it was easy for us to see the pictures Paul had, illustrating his many points. My husband really enjoyed the history, for me, it made history come alive.

A very informative walk around Carcassonne- it felt very personalised and so many interesting facts. We were made to feel part of history with lots of pictures, statues and signs to enhance the walk.
