Free Walking Tours in Yogyakarta

Surya joined the dots between the past and present kingdoms, and helped us appreciate how rich the cultural history was. We would never have noticed so much in the architecture if not for him.

Auch in Bezug auf Do's and Dont's in Indonesien.

Yes, the walk was about Sultan, buildings, history and food. I enjoy the whole tour. We were with two people, and it was in late afternoon so in normal temperature.

Our guide was Evelyn and we had a great evening with her. We started with kopi joss at an angkringan, then walked down Malioboro, past Beringharjo market and Kilometer 0, all the way to Alun-Alun Kidul and the banyan tree legend. She shared lots of stories about Jogja and its traditions along the way and was really friendly. A nice way to discover the city at night, we recommend it!

Das lebendige Herz von Yogyakarta: Ein nächtlicher Spaziergang durch Mythen, Lichter und Straßenessen

Wenda did a great tour. First of all, I really appreciated her flexibility regarding the starting time and route. She provided a lot of interesting information about local life, history, politics and society. Moreover, it was not a simple presentation of facts but rather a conversation, which created a nice atmosphere. I can really recommend her tours (she also offers individually adapted tours to different places).

Tara was a really fab guide, showing us some of the highlights around Yogya. He had plenty to talk about, giving us plenty of info, answered every question we had, really great and humorous personality. I got to get a really good sense of the city and following some of Tara’s recommendations, got to see a couple of extra cool stuff. Thanks for a really memorable and positive experience!

What a wonderful tour. We were given an great insight into the local history and culture, and tried some local delicacies along the way. Our guide, Tara, was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and helpful, and made the 4+ hour like a stroll with a friend. Highly recommend. 10/10

Yogyakarta Königliches Erbe und Geschichte Spaziergang Tour

I didn't have Ainun. I had his friend Tara. Guruwalk made a mistake and listed a different time to the actual tour time (the other guests didn't experience it). But anyway, Tara was a young man studying in the city and he knew a lot of things and was very ready to tell us all about the city and culture. I was very pleased with him. It was also less of a history tour than a food tour, which I personally liked better!

He knew a lot about Indonesian history as well. The tour was a nice mix of history, culture, food, and ghost stories! We would 100% recommend!10/10!!!
