Mr. SK did not appear, first I was informed that he is already at the meeting point, than that he will be late, finally (45 min later) that he is not coming due to an accident.

Rau was a wonderful guide. He told us about the different religions and the rituals. We could taste different fruits and malaysian and Indian food. We loved to get a deep and exclusive insight into how the different religions are living peacefully side by side in one Country. As a Christian from Europe it was especially interesting to Take a Deep Drive into the different perspectives of each individual Rituals and believes. Thank you Rau for giving us Inside Tips on the Country and the City from a local as well as sharing your interesting background and livestyle with us. Barbara, Rosalie and Family

I was the only one on the tour so i had a special treatment. The guru is very friendly and easy going to talk too. I could adjust time and place to my liking. He gave me a detailed explanation of hinduism and the cultural place. We saw the caves and it was more like i am going in there with a friend. We did some ritual and saw temples. After that he took me to KLCC. He has cery good knowledge about KL and the history of Malaysia. Very good can recommend and would do it again. Thank you

This was truly disappointing experience. The day before Rau emailed the group asking for a minimum M$120 “fee” then offered to contact him if that didn’t suit us. On that email he mentioned food expenses that actually the actual guide did not even intended to offer. The guide barely interacted with the group and only lead us into the walk. Then he was hurried to catch up the return train, in less than an out of getting into Batu Caves. Avoid taking this tour and instead you will enjoy more taking the train by yourself

Dear SEB Thank you for your review — though we must say, it raises several points that need clarification. Firstly, you mentioned “Rau” as your guide. In reality, your tour was led by Mr. Ramesh, a seasoned professional with over 10 years of experience. Rau is indeed part of our team, as clearly stated in the tour description where it also mentions that our guides rotate depending on availability. The fact that this basic detail was missed makes us question how attentively the tour was followed. You also claimed you expected to spend three hours solely at Batu Caves. Had the tour been advertised as “A Day at Batu Caves,” that would make sense — but you signed up for a combined Kuala Lumpur + Batu Caves experience. It’s clearly stated that this is a *shared itinerary*, not a private, choose-your-own-adventure. Demanding three hours at one stop simply isn’t feasible, nor fair to the rest of the group. Speaking of which — let’s address the food complaint. You say the guide didn’t offer any food. That would be concerning, if it were true. However, as stated in the itinerary, the food tasting happens in *Kuala Lumpur*. Since you chose to leave the tour midway at Batu Caves, voluntarily skipping the Kuala Lumpur portion, we’re not quite sure how food was supposed to be served to someone who wasn’t there. Then there’s the matter of the contribution — €10 for two people. According to GuruWalk’s own recommendation, the minimum suggested amount is €10 *per person*. You offered half of that, then left early, and still felt entitled to criticize a service you didn’t fully experience or fairly support. If nothing else, that speaks volumes. Lastly, it’s worth noting that the rest of the group completed the tour and thoroughly enjoyed it — which makes your version of events the exception, not the standard. We take pride in offering honest, clearly communicated, and well-organized experiences. We also value fair and truthful feedback. What we don’t appreciate is blame being thrown where it doesn’t belong, especially when based on a partial experience and an underpaid service. Wishing you all the best in your future travels — hopefully with expectations better aligned next time.
