Our tour with Soukaina started off very strong. I was happy with the amount of historical facts that were being shared about the Kasbah and the structures around it. After we left the Kasbah though, things went downhill. She led us through the medina, and to a shop for buying oils and spices, but was mostly on the phone. She did apologize for being on the phone and I completely understand that emergencies can come up. However I was mainly disappointed with the lack of history or any kind of information being shared regarding the medina and the neighborhoods we walked through. Myself and the others on the tour asked her some questions which she readily answered. But it felt like pulling teeth and given how strong we started off, I was disappointed by the end. Soukaina is a wonderful person and if you are someone who enjoys to chat with the tour guide rather than learn all the information possible about a place, you will enjoy her tour. In the end she gave us some great cafe and food recommendations which I’m grateful for!
