Sean - Tour Guide in New Orleans

This was by far the worst tour we have ever been on. We were very lost before the tour even started because we couldn’t find our guide. Instead of showing up early, he arrived one minute before the tour began. When we walked up to him, his demeanor and attitude was very off-putting. He told us and another couple (who ended up being the only other people on the tour) to go stand under “that tree” and motioned somewhere behind him. We started walking to where he was saying and there was no tree in sight! Us and the other couple ended up walking at least 1000 feet away to the closest tree we could see. After waiting for a couple minutes, Sean then walked past us to a different tree way away from us, and didn’t even acknowledge any of us when he walked by. A couple minutes after that, I noticed him frantically waving us down to join him. Mind you, this “special tree” was no where near the designated meeting spot to begin the tour, and was in a dirty patch of grass that was very uneven to stand on. Once we all joined him, he started the tour by critiquing all of us saying that we were the first group to ever not follow his directions, and also shared how many homeless people are in the city and wished they were all “taken out” (which was extremely off putting and made us very uncomfortable with such a violent reference). Then he shared that he was getting over a REALLY BAD (yes I capitalized that because he emphasized it aggressively) sinus infection and would do his best to give the tour. Once he started the tour, he was very uninteresting and monotone, and was even criticizing us for not laughing at his jokes. He also forced us to stand so close together because with us not being directly in front of him was like “talking to an empty parking lot.” The absolute worst part was his continuous coughing due to his sinus infection. Rather than being polite and turning away from the group, he would cough directly in our faces in a very dramatic fashion. It was a serious sanitary issue and disgusting. Once we walked to the second stop, the other couple left the tour because they weren’t comfortable with the guide. Once they left, he then turned to us and started criticizing the couple and saying that they didn’t seem interested in learning about history anyways, which was incredibly rude. We were going to suck it up and stay for the remainder of the time, but as soon as the other couple left it was just us and Sean, and we weren’t comfortable with that. We ended up leaving immediately after that and were very glad we did. Overall, Sean was incredibly tacky, uncomfortable, and unsanitary, and I am very disappointed with our experience.

Sean was coughing and not healthy…we left the tour…he also made a strange comment about the “homeless” and less fortunate individuals in the area that was very odd & unnecessary

Sean was super knowledgeable and kept us on track the entire time. Really enjoyed my experience!

Sean had some interesting information to tell us and incorporated enjoyable humor. He is knowledgeable about the area and asked if there was anything specific we wanted to learn about, though no one in our group had anything specific. The majority of the location stops were good. Unfortunately, it was really hot and muggy that day but he tried to find locations where we could be in the shade. I would go on it again.

Estaba lloviendo fuerte y estábamos a dos cuadras, le escribí que ya llegaba y por 3 minutos que le pedí mientras escampaba el decidió cancelar el tour. Tengo evidencia de lo q estoy diciendo. Pésima experiencia
