Hi! I’m Matías, a local historian and guide from the Jewish community in Buenos Aires, passionate about sharing its hidden stories and vibrant traditions. I even eat my empanadas with pastrami, and on this walk, we will discover how Argentine and Jewish traditions mix, exploring the past and present of the community as it shapes the spirit of the city.
Great tour and guide. Very knowledgeable and passionate about topic. Gave examples from local and personal experiences. Also made recommendations for kosha food which was appreciated. Syrian food delicious. Highly recommended taking this tour.
Interesting and very knowledgeable
I came to Buenos Aires for just a few days and was so excited to stumble across this tour when browsing GuruWalk - Jewish History is one of my favorite topics to explore in a new city! Matias did not disappoint with his wealth of knowledge (both academically historical and firsthand, growing up in the city) and his general enthusiasm for sharing his passion for Argentine Jewish culture with visitors. We saw some essential and historical landmarks, learned about both secular and religious Jewish history in the city, and ended the tour with a delicious tasting of Syrian Jewish cuisine at a local bakery. I joined a Spanish tour and although I understood most of it, Matias seamlessly filled in the gaps with English explanations. I highly recommend this stellar tour for anyone interested in a unique perspective on Jewish life in Buenos Aires!
Fantastic, informative tour. Highly recommend to anyone interested in going a bit off the beaten path!
