Haktan provides so much interesting and informative details of all the visited and hidden sites, and his humor along the way kept everyone laughing and smiling. He does a great job contrasting the Turkish style with US/UK English style as he is a world traveler himself and has lived in the USA.

A really good walking tour if you want a taste of everything in the city! We tried so much different food and Ferhat was great. Although it was a very small tour it meant we could stop and eat wherever we wanted, and skipped some places we wanted to try later.

Every city I go to, I do at least one walking tour, and Haktan was the best guide in my expieriance! I have done more interesting tours, but as a judging just the quality of a guide, this was the best expieriance for me.

This food tour through Kadıköy was an absolute highlight of my time in Istanbul, and honestly one of the best ways to experience a food-obsessed culture like Turkey's. Our guide Ferhat was excellent — knowledgeable, easygoing, and clearly passionate about the neighborhood and its food scene. What made this tour special was getting to try things I never would have sought out on my own. Two standouts: şalgam, a tangy fermented turnip/pickle juice that's a real acquired-taste local staple, and kokoreç, a grilled lamb intestine dish that sounds intimidating on paper but turned out to be genuinely delicious. Trying both with a knowledgeable local guide who could explain what they were and why they matter culturally made the experience way more enjoyable than just stumbling on them alone. Street food tours are such a great way to get beneath the surface of a place, and doing this on the Asian side specifically gave me a totally different feel from the more touristy European side — more local, more lived-in, less performative. If you're spending any real time in Istanbul, I'd strongly encourage making the trip over to Kadıköy for a food tour like this one. It genuinely enriched my whole experience of the city and gave me a much fuller picture of Istanbul's food culture beyond the usual kebab-and-baklava tourist track.
