Asian Side of Istanbul Free Tour

I’ve done loads of tours over the years, and this one with Haktan was honestly one of the best. He was an excellent guide — extremely knowledgeable, very detailed, and incredibly interesting. His explanations brought every place to life, with fascinating insights and stories you wouldn’t find in a guidebook. I will be booking him again tomorrow!

This walking tour completely changed my Istanbul experience in the best possible way. The guide’s unique dark-humored storytelling made the historical facts incredibly engaging and memorable. It was so good that I ended up attending both of his walking tours — highly recommended.

He tomado muchos tours en diferentes partes del mundo y mi experiencia con Hussein fue fenomenal. El se tomó todo el tiempo necesario, no nos apuró, nos explicó en detalle todo lo que íbamos conociendo, nos compartió comida local (muy deliciosa) y hasta nos dio tiempo para comprar souvenirs. Nos dio su número de teléfono personal en caso que tuviéramos problemas al finalizar el tour lo cual fue de mucha ayuda ya que tuve que contactarlo cuando me perdí y él pronta y amablemente me ayudó. 1000% recomendado.

Haktan provided a nice introduction of the European and Asian sides of Istanbul. He gave good historical context and also shared a lot of recommendations which I appreciated. We didn’t go to Kadikoy but that was my fault for not reading through the itinerary. I still enjoyed it a lot!

We beleefden een zeer aangename tour met Ferhat en hebben dingen geproefd die we echt niet kenden. Aangename rondleiding gevolgd door een heel lekkere maaltijd en ook koffie/dessert bij een vd adresjes die we via Ferhat leerden kennen. Aanrader!

Haktan's tours are wonderful. Very knowledgeable and a great sense of humour. Great recommendations (food/activities/local/authentic spots and experiences that are very well priced) 10/10, I literally signed up for another one of his tours as soon as we finished the first.

Haktan is very amusing and highly knowledgeable and conducts a very interesting tour. this is a long 3 hour tour and a challenging walk. If you are older and slower as I am, I suggest you not take it. His morning tour of the hippodrome is much less challenging and equally interesting.

Insgesamt eine gute und kurzweilige Tour. Haktan hat viele interessante Dinge zu erzählen. Nicht nur Geschichte, sondern auch über das alltägliche Leben in der Stadt. Einen Punkt muss ich leider abziehen, weil die Vorführung der alten türkischen Kunst leider den Beigeschmack einer Verkaufsveranstaltung hatte. Dennoch würde ich seine Tour wieder buchen.

I had a wonderful experience on the “2 Continents, 1 City” free walking tour in Istanbul. Our guide - Haktan was absolutely fantastic — pleasant, funny, and incredibly easy to understand and talk to. He made the history, culture, and little local details come alive in such an engaging way. The route was well planned, and crossing from Europe to Asia while learning so much about the city was truly memorable. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Istanbul. Nos gustó mucho el tour a pesar de la lluvia. El guía lo hizo muy ameno y con sentido del humor. Quizás eché en falta algo más de información sobre diferencias e historia entre la zona europea y la asiática, pero fue completo y nos dio muy buenas recomendaciones.
