I booked the tour with Eugene and it turned out to be a great introduction to Kyiv. Communication before meeting was really easy and responsive. The walk itself was well-paced with some coffee stops available ;) Eugene knows his stuff, answered all my questions, and made it feel more like a walk with a local than a strict tour. Definitely recommend!

In Brief: Excellent private walking tour with a knowledgeable and personable guide. Relaxed, flexible, and genuinely insightful. Highly recommended. Detailed: I had Eugene as my guide and from the start he was excellent. He arrived exactly on time and was friendly and easy to talk to straight away. It ended up being just me on the tour, but he didn’t let that affect anything and still delivered a full, engaging experience. I actually had to cancel a booking with him the day before as I wasn’t feeling well, and he couldn’t have handled it better. He was very understanding and even messaged me personally to check in and see if I wanted to rebook, which was a really nice touch and not something you always get. The tour itself was really informative. We walked through some key streets in Kyiv and Eugene’s knowledge was clear throughout. He answered every question I threw at him without hesitation, and I appreciated that he was more than happy to go off topic to cover things I was curious about. It felt more like a conversation than a scripted tour, which made it far more enjoyable. In terms of coverage, the tour focuses on a relatively small area, so it is not one of those where you come away fully oriented with the whole city. That said, what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in depth. The areas we did cover were packed with history, and it gave me a much better understanding of Ukraine’s past and how it has shaped the country today. Eugene also made it clear that I could stay in touch with him after the tour if I needed any recommendations or advice. He was genuinely happy for me to reach out if I got stuck or needed help with anything. In a country where the culture and language are quite different from my own, that was a really reassuring gesture and something I thought was genuinely kind. One practical thing to be aware of is payment. Make sure you either have cash in Ukrainian hryvnia or a bank setup that allows easy international transfers, as UK banks in particular can make this more awkward than expected. And finally, if Eugene suggests heading to a bar at the end, trust him. The staff were friendly and the food was simple but genuinely delicious. Overall, I would definitely recommend this tour, especially if you want something more personal, flexible, and genuinely insightful rather than just ticking off landmarks.

We had a fantastic time on the tour of Kreshatyk Street with Eugene - it was a walk through history and architecture, and we learnt a lot. Eugene made the tour very engaging and was super flexible to our personal needs and interests. I would wholeheartedly recommend Eugene as a tour guide to anyone, and I am looking forward to booking more tours with him in the future!

Joined the tour on New Year's Eve and Eugene made time to accomodate me. He came very prepared with lots of materials and I found the old photos and information very interesting. I walked the same street again the next day and it was nice to be able to imagine what Eugene the previous day. This tour is totally recommended for everyone who wants to know Kyiv more than surface value.

Eugene was a great guide*. He takes attendees along a well-suited route to show important aspects of the city‘s past, including, of course, the troublesome soviet era and how Kyiv is freeing itself from the colonial heritage without destroying it all. The tour is thus a perfect starting point if you‘ve just arrived in Kyiv. After the walk we chatted about the grim reality Kyivians are facing today because of the same unfriendly neighbour to the east. These were three very enjoyable and informative hours and I now feel better prepared to further explore the city. * not a guru, seriously, who came up with that ridiculous brand name? I‘m sure none of your customers intended to book a cult leader

Nos ha encantado el tour que hemos realizado con Alona habla muy bien español, te cuenta muchas cosas que han ido pasando en Ucrania en el pasado y actualmente, te dice sitios donde comer comida Ucrania típica, te da datos curiosos de edificios que tu pasas por alto, yo la recomiendo si vas a Ucrania que el centro te lo enseñe Alona y después tu tranquilamente por todos los sitios que te ha enseñado te pares tranquilamente a visitarlos. Alana nos hizo un tour genial por los sitios más emblemáticos del centro con una dosis super valiosa de historia sobre Ucrania y lo que íbamos viendo. Este país tiene una historia dura pero es necesario conocerla para poder entender el sitio en el que estamos, y a los ucranianos! Recomendaciones para comer, beber, Y más alegre y maja que las pesetas. La recomendaré siempre!!

El Tour ha sido genial!!! Alona es una persona super alegre y que transmite mucha positividad, ademas su castellano es muy bueno. En el Tour nos mostró los lugares mas importantes del casco antiguo de la ciudad y nos explicó tanto la historia de Ucrania como la actualidad del pais. Fue todo muy interesante, recomiendo este tour 100% y la ciudad de Kiev por supuesto que también.
