How the ranking was made
The ranking is based on real data from GuruWalk, the world’s largest free tour platform, and only counts ratings and bookings from English-language sessions. It includes free tours whose main theme is the city’s mysteries and legends, with at least 30 reviews in English and English-language sessions on Halloween, 31 October 2026. To ensure a variety of destinations, only one tour per city was chosen.
Each tour gets a score from 0 to 100. Traveller ratings, adjusted for the number of reviews, make up 60% of the score, and popularity based on bookings over the last 12 months makes up the other 40%. All the info is based on data collected on 9 October 2026.
