Free walking tours in Reykjavík

We, a family of 4, highly recommend people to sign up to this city walks, they are informative, funny and is such a great way to 'see' a city and its history alongside fun and more modern background. Our guide, Ole, took us on some back roads where we otherwise would not have appreciated the background to houses (and how they are build and why), statues, trees, why Iceland doesn't have an army, language, Icelandic name tradition, food, trade etc to why modern engineering includes putting warm water pipes under pavement/ roads. We attended during the culture night which was an added bonus. The city tour is well worth your time! You pay at the end of the tour to a value you find ok. Even though that any currency is OK, I would say use Euros, £ or $, if you have cash otherwise, online transfer is fine too.

Walking tour was cancelled due to Reykjavik Marathon and Cultural Night. We will try again next time we come back to Iceland!

He brought a foreigners (from Dominican Republic) perspective on the Icelandic language and culture. Very enlightening and entertaining. Mo will exceed your tour expectations!!

Great guide, provides excellent insight from both the perspective of someone who has lived in Iceland for a few years and from the perspective of a foreigner which is of particular interest for travellers.

Well organized and presented tour. Eric spoke clearly and even though it was a large group , every one could hear . He answered questions and kept people engaged.

It wasn’t Marteinn, another guy, Ain He was terrific as are so many of your leaders, so full of information, funny but not too corny, very open to questions. A great introduction to Reykjavik thanks.

The tour was great and our guide Thomas was excellent! He was very interesting, had a great positive attitude and made the tour the best-spent 1.5 hours in Reykjavik, even though it was raining. Highly recommended!

Amazing tour for people interested in history!

I loved this tour....more people joined us but he was very attentive, funny and factual...the route was very good and my son and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

It was all perfect. Sara was knowledgeable and entertaining. Gave us great advice on places to eat and shop.
