Hi! I am Christine from Germany and a licensed tour guide of Florence. You are perhaps asking yourself "What is a German girl doing in Florence"? The answer is simple. 2012 I made the "mistake" to come to Florence for a holiday and I fell immediately in love with the city. So I decided to come and stay. See, it can be really dangerous to make holidays here, you never know, if you'll be able to go back to your home country. As I love the city very much, I am happy to share my knowledge and passion for it with you. I hope to see you in one of my tours :)
Florence is famous for its art works which you can find everywhere in the city - outside in its streets and inside in its churches and museums. Artists as Michelangelo, Botticelli and Da Vinci lived and worked here and influenced the city with their art. All this happened about 500 years ago. But what's going on nowadays in the city? Are there no artists anymore?
In this tour you'll discover Florence from a different perspective, you'll find out a lot about its contemporary artists, especially the Street Artists of Florence.
Especially the "other side" of the river, called "Oltrarno", is full of amazing squares, artisan shops, artist workshops, bars and cafes. So you can find locals hanging out there, enjoying their coffee in Santo Spirito and eating paninos (sandwiches). At the end of the tour we'll pass by some artist workshops. If we are lucky, we can see them working on their next project.
You will see in this tour different spots in the area " Oltrarno". We are walking through small streets full with artistic suprises and we'll end our tour in San Niccolo where you can find workshops of some of the Street Artists.
Meeting point: Open in Google Maps
How to find me: In front of the church Santa Maria del Carmine. I ll have a stick with a yellow cloth
