Tour description

Discover the dark secrets hidden behind the recent history of this well-known Costa del Sol boom town in a two-hour walking tour around the maze of streets in the city centre.

The tour is set against Fuengirola's dark past and present. This Costa del Sol boom town might be known primarily for its long promenade, maze of high-rises and busy streets, but there's a dark undercurrent of violence, war and crime hidden behind its façade. We will explore a dark past of bloody battles and war crimes, mafia murders and narcos, political terrorism and the glitz and decadence of the old Costa del Sol, and much more, while taking a stroll around the streets of the Villa Blanca.

Main themes:

- An overview of Fuengirola and Spain's bloody history

- The Battle of Fuengirola 1810 - The Napoleonic Wars

- The Spanish Civil War: submarine attacks, church burnings and mass graves

- International Mafia Playground - narco operations and score settling in the old Costa del Sol

- The ETA bombings in Fuengirola

- True crime

- The Wolfman of Sierra Morena

0 profesionalidad y respeto

Very good. A lot of what Alex had to talk about we knew about already as we had all lived in Fuengirola for some time, but he always had something new to add.

Great tour! Lots of interesting information about the history of Fuengirola and Spain. Alexandre has perfect English and has a fantastic memory for historical events. The tour is about two hours long and the pace is good with some walking intermingled with stops for a chat and sharing information.

Great fun and I now know more about my home town. Thanks and well done Alexandre, from the whole group.

Alex really knows his stuff, and like to share his knowledge. He is also a very friendly and sympathetic guy. I can only recommend Alex for those, who likes to know about 'the dark side' of the history of Fuengirola.
