Get indulged into the hidden gems of Athens

Prepare yourself to discover the real Athens all over the ages: Classical, Roman, Jewish, Christian, Muslim and modern. We will definitely explore Southern and Northern slopes of the Acropolis. We will climb two hills on each of the slopes to the take photos with INFATUATING views. We will visit the Meteopolis church of Athens, the old metropolis, the small metropolis built totally from ancient fragments, and the oldest Byzantine church of the city. We will also see the Holocaust memorial and the Jewish Synagogue of the house of peace. We will go through the catalogues of the Acropolis museum as well as the archaeological one. We will see the Roman extension of the city including the Temple of Olympian Zeus, wall of Hadrian, bath complex and the (newly) installed statue of Alexander the Great. There will be lots of ruins on our tour like parts of Athens classical wall and definitely LOTS of information. Moreover, we will visit the eclectic buildings of the Academy of Athens, former buildings of both university and national library. There prepare yourself to see 2 of the oldest olive trees in Athens 800 & 700 years old!!! From there we will visit the old parliament which is the now the museum of national history and then we will relax in the embrace of nature at the national gardens and we will visit the conference hall of the Zappas family known as the Zappeion. We always have a chance to pass by the local market and bazars of books and antiques as well as the amazing Plaka district. By the end you'll have a concrete understanding of Greek history through art, mythology as well as influence of Ancient Greek art motifs on modern architecture. We always have time to add some more things and adjust the program based on your preferences.
