East End - Where Londoners spend Their Day Out

I'm Harry, and being a tour guide is a great privilege for me and one that I'm desperately seeking. I really love history, my first love was the Arthurian legend and Robin Hood, which really sparked my passion for medieval history and British history onwards. Equally, I am a great lover of classical literature, so Westminster and Abbey (which is not far from being comparable to the Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris due to the number of giants of yesteryear that are buried there) are one of my favorite places in London. , and always have been, and always are, as there is more and more to learn. I love music and I have traveled Europe and the United States with a band and it goes without saying that I love to travel. I would really love to talk more about these passions of mine and find out more about other people and other places.

Tour description

Even if you are the most eclectic family and not one of you can ever agree on anything- I can guarantee you that not one of you will fail to find something you do not want to revisit.

From Boxpark- a mall made of shipping containers with up-and-coming as well as juggernaut brands unified by their ultra-coolness we go to the legendary (even without Monica Ali’s eponymous best seller) Brick lane...

Passed a treasure trove of vintage shops, antique caves & fascinating eccentricities we will fight the mouthdrenching temptation of various bakeries, cafes and a London-institution open 24-7 and with queues out the doors and down the street for most of those hours.

Through the Old Truman Brewery and  its hyper trendy pop-ups, markets, and factory sales we will see fascinating street art from jugegrnauts like Banksy, Stick Y& Shepheard Fairy as well as pieces by lesser names but certainly NOT lesser talents.

We will go through BANGLATOWN and learn about the fascinating history of iummigration that has helped shaped this amazing area.

More incredible street art, filming locations, stunning (& some Celebrity Owned Georgian Houses).

We will see a bit more of the historic side including Jack The Ripper’s Old Stomping ground.

There is too much in this area to list the wonders of the tour but rest assured, crammed into a (even for Londond) VERY short distance is a real cacophony of wonders and temptations to suit ANY interest

Have done both tours with Harry now, first one was so good we had to try this one and sure enough not only did it not disappoint but even probably exceeded our very high expectations!

Harry guided a group of my MA students around East London and gave us a little snippet of everything through lovely conversations and advice about good food spots. Thanks Harry.
