Covered the important places in Mumbai in a short time

We did the slum walking tour in Mumbai and it was a great experience. Before going, we were a bit unsure because we didn’t want to take part in something that felt like a “poverty tour,” but the approach is completely different. Our guide, Balaji, was excellent. He was very kind and attentive from beginning to end, he even walked with us afterward to make sure we could safely get our Uber. What really made the experience special was the local perspective he shared. You can clearly feel his genuine connection to the place, which makes everything much more authentic. Instead of focusing on the negative stereotypes often associated with these communities, the tour highlights the strong sense of community and the real daily life of the people who live there. We could learn about how things work, especially the small businesses and the recycling system that exists there. Of course, it is a different lifestyle from what many of us are used to, but that is exactly what makes the experience so interesting and enriching. We were also surprised by how organized many aspects of daily life are. If you are hesitating because you are worried it might feel exploitative or uncomfortable, don’t be. That is not the spirit of this tour. It is a genuine opportunity to learn and better understand the local reality. I highly recommend it. It was an excellent experience, largely thanks to our guide Balaji.

We had the pleasure of doing the walking tour with Meet on Feb 21st. It was a wonderful experience. It’s a great way to see Mumbai and meet had a wealth of knowledge to share. He has a great zest for life and truly enjoys giving these tours. He was very helpful with providing recommendation and helping us bargain with street vendors when we were shopping for Knick knacks. I highly recommend Meet if you are interested in learning the history of this great city, Mumbai!

We had such a nice tour with Sanjay! We were a small group of only 5 people, so it was very easy going and we could ask about every detail. Like walking around with a friend. The guide was extremely kind, funny and knows everything about the historical buildings and history of the city. We went to a lot of interesting places and were told many stories about the backgrounds. We can absolutely recommend this tour by Sanjay! Thanks a lot 🤩

The tour was great and it was nice to hear the local side to the stories in addition to the normal information. Tejas was very accommodating and was able to provide a decent level of detail as well as adding more stops to help improve our overall trip

It would have been necessary to agree very clearly on the payment at the beginning, because in the end we were scolded and demanded to pay 1,000 rupees between the two of us.

We did the Dharavi tour. It was very eye opener. We learned interesting facts about the recycling, the pottery, and small businesses. Balaji, was excellent. He was very informative. He spoke clear English. He was engaged. He was open to questions. I cannot fault him. It was a free tour. He did not expect anything from us. That was very nice. He was happy with whatever we gave him. One small point. He asked us to come 15 min early. He arrived about 5 min before the start time. We began 10 min late. It did not affect the tour. He was very good. Overall, overall very good.

It was a great tour of Mumbai, we had great explainations and the guru take time to answer to all our questions

Sanjay was a wonderful tour guide!! He was so knowledgeable about Mumbai and India in general and showed us some key areas that we would otherwise have missed. The tour was a bit longer than expected, but this was because he was very thorough so not a problem - just a heads up in case you’re worried about getting tired / have plans immediately afterwards.
