In this free tour of Puerto Madero we are going to discover the most modern and luxurious neighborhood in Buenos Aires!
As its name indicates, it had been the old port that Buenos Aires had. After its opening, it functioned as such for a time, later leading to the creation of the city's newest neighborhood.
We will meet next to the Monument to Juana Azurduy, in front of the Kirchner Cultural Center. From there we will begin to walk through the neighborhood discovering its most notable monuments and buildings.
One of the strong points of the tour will be to see the ARA Presidente Sarmiento frigate, the first modern training ship that Argentina had. Currently this ship is moored in Dock III and converted into a museum. Next, we will cross the Puente de La Mujer, the iconic image of Puerto Madero.
We will continue passing by the Anne Frank Monument and Juana Manso Street, where we will see the tallest skyscraper buildings in the entire city. Among them, the Alvear Tower stands out, which at 235 meters is the tallest building in Argentina. Afterwards we will go to the Argentine Women Park, where we will learn about the most outstanding female figures in national history.
We will follow the route to get closer to the building of the Old Munich Brewery and the Monument to the Naval Prefecture, and we will cross to the Costanera Sur.
Finally we will appreciate the Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve, one of the main areas with biodiversity in the city.
We will meet next to the Monument to Juana Azurduy, in front of the Kirchner Cultural Center. You will recognize me for wearing a microphone and a fuchsia shirt and umbrella.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
