Lyon: gastronomy, history, and culture.
Tour description
Without leaving aside the history and relevant data of the city, the tour has a gastronomic focus. I think one of the best things about traveling is tasting new and local things. Lyon, being the French and world capital of gastronomy, offers thousands of places to eat well, from Les Halles de Paul Bocuse to Michelin-starred restaurants, cafés, bistros, local and international street food, and an endless number of bakeries/pastry shops.
Tour in approximately 2 hours:
-Roman Archaeological Garden
-Place and Cathedral Saint Jean (St. John)
-Longest Traboule in Lyon
-Saint Jean Street
-Passerelle (bridge) Saint Vincent
-Great Mural of the Lyonnais
-Place des Terreaux and Garden of the Museum of Fine Arts
-St Nizier Church
-Rue (Street) Mercière
-Place des Jacobins (Jacobins)
-Place Bellecour
The tour ends at Place Bellecour, very close to a typical Lyonnais Bouchon restaurant, which I highly recommend because I had the opportunity to work there for a while. You will be able to enjoy a traditional menu at reasonable prices.
