This experience takes you straight into the heart of Chengdu’s food culture — from daytime markets to vibrant night markets — to show you how locals shop, cook, eat, and live.
Start your journey inside a real Chengdu market, where vendors sell fresh produce, handmade tofu, pickles, noodles, spices, and seasonal specialties. Your guide will explain the cultural logic behind Sichuan ingredients: why these flavors matter, how families shop, and how markets shape daily food habits. You’ll sample small bites along the way (optional).
As afternoon turns to evening, you’ll move into Chengdu’s lively night market scene. This is where the city’s bold, joyful, late-night food identity comes alive. Strolling through rows of sizzling grills and handmade snacks, you’ll taste iconic Chengdu street foods while learning their stories — who invented them, how locals eat them, and why they represent the spirit of Sichuan cuisine.
