Hi, I’m Robert!
Born and raised in Hungary, with a side quest in Canada (where I picked up the fine art of saying "eh" and apologizing unnecessarily-sorry), I'm a dual citizen; fluent in both Hungarian and English. Having lived most of my life in Budapest, I know this city like the back of my hand, but my time in Canada gave me a fresh appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
I’m a passionate history buff, always digging into the fascinating stories behind Budapest’s iconic landmarks. Whether it’s ancient tales of kings and empires, legendary battles, royal drama or quirky local legends, I love bringing the city’s past to life. I believe every street has its story.
When I’m not immersed in history, I’m probably watching a movie(or quoting one) searching for a new film to add to my list—I’m a big movie fan and think Budapest has a deep cinematic history and flair.
And let’s not forget food! I'm always on the lookout for the best local eats, so expect a few food tips along the way (I may even sneak in a snack myself).
So if you’re ready for a tour filled with history, movie-worthy views, and some tasty local bites, come join me and discover Budapest like a true local!
It was an absolute delight to be on Robert’s tour! He was warm, welcoming, polite and very thoughtful right from the get go. His passion for what he does was very evident, and despite leading a large group, he was very conscious of everyone’s pace and gave some really cool tips about the city. He personalized the tour by sharing anecdotes of his life in Hungary, as well as the time he spent in Canada. As one of the very few remaining independent guides in Budapest, I highly recommend Robert and his tour!
Rob was a great guide. He was very informative and also had a good sense of humour. I would highly recommend his tour if you are in Budapest - it's a great introduction to the city and its brief history.
Robert was funny, friendly and knowledgable. He gave us an intimate look into a broad swath of Hungarian and Budapest culture and history. 10/10!
