Hi, I’m Robert!
Born and raised in Hungary, with a side quest in Canada (where I picked up the fine art of saying "eh" and apologizing unnecessarily-sorry), I'm a dual citizen; fluent in both Hungarian and English. Having lived most of my life in Budapest, I know this city like the back of my hand, but my time in Canada gave me a fresh appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
I’m a passionate history buff, always digging into the fascinating stories behind Budapest’s iconic landmarks. Whether it’s ancient tales of kings and empires, legendary battles, royal drama or quirky local legends, I love bringing the city’s past to life. I believe every street has its story.
When I’m not immersed in history, I’m probably watching a movie(or quoting one) searching for a new film to add to my list—I’m a big movie fan and think Budapest has a deep cinematic history and flair.
And let’s not forget food! I'm always on the lookout for the best local eats, so expect a few food tips along the way (I may even sneak in a snack myself).

Robert was far above my expectations. He spoke with a North American accent, which made it much easier to understand, and he came very well prepared with his presentation of the tour. The tour was extremely informative, covering the history of Hungary from its early beginnings through the 18th and 19th centuries, World War II, and into modern times. At each site we visited, Robert provided detailed background stories and historical context. Some of the information was truly eye-opening for me. At the end of the tour, he also shared a list of recommended local foods, places to eat, and spots to enjoy the city’s nightlife and culture. This was the best GuruWalk tour we have ever been on.
