Hi, I’m Robert!
Born and raised in Hungary, with a side quest in Canada (where I picked up the fine art of saying "eh" and apologizing unnecessarily-sorry), I'm a dual citizen; fluent in both Hungarian and English. Having lived most of my life in Budapest, I know this city like the back of my hand, but my time in Canada gave me a fresh appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.
I’m a passionate history buff, always digging into the fascinating stories behind Budapest’s iconic landmarks. Whether it’s ancient tales of kings and empires, legendary battles, royal drama or quirky local legends, I love bringing the city’s past to life. I believe every street has its story.
When I’m not immersed in history, I’m probably watching a movie(or quoting one) searching for a new film to add to my list—I’m a big movie fan and think Budapest has a deep cinematic history and flair.
And let’s not forget food! I'm always on the lookout for the best local eats, so expect a few food tips along the way (I may even sneak in a snack myself).
So if you’re ready for a tour filled with history, movie-worthy views, and some tasty local bites, come join me and discover Budapest like a true local!
Super completed! He provided us entertainment, history, fun facts, and helped us with all questions and recommendations! Thanks Robert!
Thank you so much, Robert! This tour has been so funny and a nice experience. We have learned a lot about Buda and Pest! And thanks for the delicious Túró Rudi! Greetings from Berlin!
We had an amazing free walking tour in Budapest with Robert! The tour was incredibly engaging and covered such a great mix of culture, history, religion, cinema history, and even celebrity stories. It was full of fun facts and interesting details that made the whole experience unforgettable. Even though it was very windy, Robert made us completely forget about it. He really made an effort to ensure everyone could hear him at all times and kept the group entertained throughout the tour. The quizzes he included were a great touch and brought a lot of energy to the group. Robert was extremely friendly, and you could really feel his passion as a local sharing stories about his city. He also gave us many useful recommendations for places and restaurants to visit. It was the perfect way to start getting to know Budapest. Highly recommended!
