My name is Pedro, and I am the founder of Almafuerte, an organization dedicated to cultural tourism. I was born in Patagonia and have lived in the La Boca neighborhood for the past five years. My greatest wish is that anyone who comes to Argentina, upon setting foot on this land, feels a little bit Argentine. This would be a great honor and bring me immense satisfaction. In the Argentine heart, no one is a foreigner if they come with the desire to feel like one of our brothers and sisters. That heart and that brotherhood are what we offer most sincerely and most preciously.
Angelo was a great guide, however, he wasn’t meant to be my guide. I had booked an English tour alongside 5 other people. But the guide didn’t work that day and we were told there was an error on the website - despite even having reminders about the pickup location and time etc. We were told if we wanted to have an English guide we’d need to come back at 2pm which no one could make. In the end Angelo took us along in his tour, but he only spoke Spanish - we ended up having the 3 people from the Spanish tour translating Angelo’s information. Everyone were super friendly and patient and in the end we had a great tour. But, I’d be concerned booking tours through guruwalk in the future given this issue - clearly the website is not updated properly. We were lucky, but for a moment it looked like we wouldn’t be able to join a tour as it was our last day.
Al principio me dejé llevar por las calificaciones y estuve a punto de elegir otro tour de La Boca, pero después de hacerlo con Angelo creo que fue la mejor decisión. Si realmente quieres conocer el barrio más allá de la parte turística, este tour vale mucho la pena. Angelo explica La Boca desde una perspectiva local, con contexto, historia y detalles que ayudan a entender mejor lo que hay detrás de sus calles, sus colores y su importancia dentro de Buenos Aires. El recorrido está bien llevado, es dinámico y no se siente como una explicación genérica. Además, como sugerencia al finalizar el tour, el asado con personas locales es simplemente excepcional. Le da un cierre muy bueno a la experiencia y permite conectar más con el lugar. Lo recomiendo mucho si quieres conocer La Boca de una forma más auténtica, clara y diferente. Cumple literalmente con ser un tour barrial/por el barrio, desde el comienzo anduvimos por calles poco concurridas donde se comentaba como vivía la gente y datos curiosos. Vimos como oportunidad de mejora el lugar de parada 10 min, lugar poco amigable y con baño en pesimas condiciones
