Tourstilla - Tour Guide in Madrid

I really enjoyed this Spanish Civil War tour in Madrid, and a big part of that was our guide, J.P. From the very beginning, he created a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere and clearly explained how the tour would unfold. He is incredibly knowledgeable and well-prepared, but what truly stood out was his storytelling. The history was brought to life through his engaging and detailed narration, making a complex and emotional topic both fascinating and easy to follow. J.P. was always attentive to the group, making sure everyone could hear, understand, and keep up. No one was left behind. Throughout the tour, he thoughtfully chose comfortable spots where we could sit and rest while he continued sharing the story and historical context. This made the experience enjoyable and accessible for everyone without interrupting the flow of the tour. I also loved the historical photographs he shared along the way. They added so much context and helped us visualize the events and places we were learning about. I highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about the Spanish Civil War and Madrid's history. J.P. is an outstanding guide, and his passion for the subject makes the experience truly memorable.

Javier was very animated, knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. Although it was extremely hot in Madrid during the tour, Javier kept finding shady spot to help reduce heat for us all. He gave many great recommendations about places to eat, etc… to tour participants. He did speak a little quickly at times to cover all the information. I was able to follow, but so members of the tour group might have been struggling especially if English was their second language. Otherwise, great, informative tour!

Paul did an excellent job, he made the realities of the Spanish 1930-ies come alive. As we visited the different scenes of the attack on Madrid he also presented photos, maps etc so we could understand the terror the inhabitants of Madrid suffered. A wonderful evening!
