Free walking tours in Murcia

The guide was not Juan but Lucia. She deputised for him at the last minute. She was charming, welcoming and highly professional. We were so lucky because my wife and I were the only guests! (Other people who had booked cancelled at the last minute) So, we got a private tour of the highlights of delightful Murcia. And what a tour it was! Lucia started by giving us a wonderfully informative history lesson of the history of Murcia and then guided us around all the magnificent old buildings inside the old city walls, taking time to stop at each and tell us a little about the architecture. Our tour included great insights into the culture and cuisine of Murcia and we had a chance to stop for coffee and discuss several aspects of Spanish life and language. One highlight of the tour was a walk around the indoor market, where Lucia spent time explaining about some of the kinds of meat and fish on display. We were absolutely fascinated by the huge range of unusual, delicious foods, one of which, the local speciality meat pie, we were able to sample later that day. All in all, Lucia was an excellent guide, who spoke impeccable English and we can only give her our highest recommendation for her duties as a professional tour guide and wish her every success with her future tour work. Juan had an excellent knowledge of Murcia spoke excellent English and gave us some good tips on where eat and what to eat. We were warned by the app that he had cancelled a few times but there were only two of us and it was not a problem. So I would not worry about that as a couple.

Her tour was entertaining, funny, historically interesting and it was great to get some of her local tips on where to go for various types of tapas and markets, as well as other iconic must-sees. She enlightened us about local customs, the pointed out things we would ordinarily not have noticed. She was engaging and interactive and time flew past. We will definitely be recommending her to friends and family and will probably do the tour again as there was much to learn and take in. Thank you Lucia. Even if we were only 2 persons registred for the tour, Lucía did it anyway, which is great. She is lovely, knowledgeable, professionnal and She loves her city! She was open to answer all kind of questions which gave us to better understanding of the Spanish people. We felt like walking around with a friend and the 2 hours were too short.

A very informative walking tour of Murcia. Juan told us lots of interesting stories about the history of the City. It was a very hot day and Juan was very thoughtful to keep us in the shade as much as possible. A great walking tour.
