This small-group tour is a fantastic way to experience a very different part of New York that very few tourists get to see. Steve is a wonderfully attentive and entertaining guide that has lived for a long time in the community and seems to be known and liked by everybody. We started in the Mexican part of town, proceeding through the Colombian and then South Asian districts. Steve's food recommendations were superb. A truly unique experience, would highly recommend!!

David was great. Approachable, helpful and knowledgeable he is more than a prepared and educated guide. We were really lucky to have him on this platform. The tour went really well, he shared a massive amount of information and made what every great tour guide does: gives context and creates memorable moments from what without a guide would be just streets and buildings. I do have to note unfortunately that the tour was scheduled in English and we were notified 2 hours in advance that it was actually in Spanish (to me this was not an issue because I speak the language but there were 2 other tourists there who had to leave because they didn’t see this update in advance). Except for that, as I said before, it was an amazing experience that enhanced very much my stay in New York.

Steve was absolutely brilliant. I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect but wanted to experience NY beyond Manhattan and this tour completely delivered. Steve is a fountain of knowledge and took me through the history of the island, the 5 boroughs and the expansion of the subway which ultimately lead to the creation of areas like Jackson heights. It was a fascinating story which touched on everything from the abolishment of slavery, segregation and white flight, to the original Dutch families who monopolised ferry routes and railroads, then architectural styles and home ownership structures, immigration, food, music (and karaoke!), before some of the more recent issues facing queens. We tried some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten - especially the aquachilles at Mariscos el Submarino (a sort of Mexican ceviche)! Beyond this Steve is just a great guy and I very much enjoyed hanging out in his local haunts in Queens and learning about his life. Thanks Steve!!

The walk was fantastic! Visited neighborhoods we wouldn’t have found ourselves coupled with great information about each stop. I would recommend it to anyone who is undecided. Just go, you’ll learn a lot!

Was an excellent tour overall. Louis was excellent. Due to gurustaff issues, only one tour guide to handle English and Spanish speaking groups so Louis had to alternate two languages which was not ideal. Length of tour was 3 hours on a very hot day so a much longer walk than expected ( over 4 miles). One participant also smoked several joints of weed which was not pleasant . Highly recommend our guide though!

Kassi was excellent! She took us around all the main spots, adding her own personal touch throughout. We learned so much about architecture, history, and culture — plus she shared plenty of great tips for exploring New York and trying local food. I really liked her style of guiding and would love to join one of her tours again next time I’m in town. Truly amazing!

Das war ein Erlebnis, wer abseits der Touristen-Hotspots ein Multikulti-Viertel erleben möchte, ist bei der Tour genau richtig. Steve holte uns an der Grand Central Station ab. Gemeinsam fuhren wir dann nach Jackson Heights. Beim Bummeln durch das Viertel erlebten wir indische, tibetanische, kolumbianische und mexikanische Geschäfte, Foodtrucks und Straßenzüge. Überall probierten wir das Essen: Momis, Fuksha, Tacos und Kuchen einer uruguayischen Bäckerei. Ein sehr authentisches Erlebnis. Dann noch ein Spaziergang durch die schöne Backstein-Gartenstadt, wirklich sehenswert. Steve hat uns sehr viel über die Entwicklung dieses Viertels erzählt und natürlich auch all unsere Fragen zu New York beantwortet. Eine tolle, interessante Tour, absolut empfehlenswert.
