Greenwich Village : history of an artist enclave

David’s tour is one of the best tour’s I’ve ever done in my entire life. Such excellent weaving of history, art, politics, society and ecology into the very fabric of Williamsburg, Brooklyn! With David we were able to walk the streets of contemporary Williamsburg but imagine it through the eyes of previous generations who immigrated, and built homes there and made a community and space for themselves in NYC. No topic is left untouched (from Caribbean sugar plantations to German brewery houses to indigenous dispossession) and what I really appreciated in this tour is David’s ability to make sense of the politics and events of the present by explaining so clearly and vividly what came before. The tour was a couple of hours - so not for the faint hearted but totally worth it! Do not miss this opportunity!

We enjoyed our tour with Kassi she was very informative and knowledgeable. The tour was a good length it gave us an overview of some of the iconic NYC buildings and structures. It was well paced. The tips of restaurants and theatre options at the end were also great I would recommend this tour. Thanks Kassi
