Britt mixed humor with historical knowledge and was friendly and approachable. The starting spot can be difficult to find, it is directly across the traffic light. The tour included some interesting places too. My wife and I liked that Britt stayed away from tourist spots and other tourist groups. Britt had good control of the group and made sure the group caught up to his pace. We are overall satisfied with Britt.

David provided a phenomenal tour. He is so knowledgeable and shares history that will make you think. He is also gracious. The tour involves walking and hills. One guest in our group had some mobility challenges, but David was patient throughout.

Die Tour war sehr informativ. Wir haben viel über die Geschichte von SF gelernt. Britt war sehr lustig und nett. Er hat alle Fragen beantwortet. Die Sehenswerten Orte waren sehr gut ausgewählt. Am besten fand ich das Parkgaragendeck. Die Tour dauerte 2:15 Stunden. Ich hätte noch 2 Stunden gehen können. Vielen Dank!!!

The Essential San Francisco Tour

This was an excellent tour! It was clearly evident that Greg had spent a lot of time researching the history of Haight-Ashbury during the 1960's and the your was full of history, fun and educational, complete with audio recordings and pictures. I would definitely recommend the tour, especially with Greg! Thank you Greg!!!

This tour was great. Saw lots of interesting things, our tour guide Britt was a great story teller with tonnes of local knowledge and recommended a great place for lunch we visited after. Highly recommend doing this if you visit San Francisco !

Hidden Staircases of SF was a great experience for the whole family! We had kids as young as 58 and as old of 14 and everyone was engaged and appreciated the tour. Little things - fast facts, inside jokes, etc. - from the tour came up for the rest of the weekend get-away and I'm so grateful this was something the whole family did together! Highly recommend!

The tour was an outstanding experience, and Phillip is an exceptionally professional guide! I've taken around 20 guided tours around the world, and this one easily ranks among my top three. Phillip has a real talent for storytelling. He doesn't just present historical facts—he connects causes and effects across different events, making the city's history both engaging and easy to understand. What impressed me the most was the parallel he drew between the Gold Rush prospectors of the 19th century and today's entrepreneurs. It was a fascinating perspective, and it's a story I'll remember for a long time. A fantastic way to spend a few hours—I highly recommend this tour!

Greg’s tour of the Haight Ashbury neighborhood (Love and Haight) was beyond any expectation or preconceived idea I had! We wanted the counterculture music history of the neighborhood, and we got it for sure, but there was so much more . . . pop culture, political and economic historical development of San Francisco, architecture and more! Tbh, I’d do it again if /shen we visit back to SF!

This tour was fascinating! I learned more in two hours from Greg than I could have through months of research. The tour brought the 60's music era to life. I was impressed with how he incorporated photos, music and interviews into the walk-making history come to life. I loved the secret stories along the way and all of the people that he highlighted including Hell's Angels, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix, The Grateful Dead, The Spreckel's family, Robin Williams, The lady who invented bell bottoms, the physician that started the free clinic on Haight street and SO many other creative individuals. He even sent us a video of the tour noting the locations and sharing photos taken along the way. I wish that I was staying in San Francisco longer so I could take more tours (or do this one a second time). I highly recommend it to locals and adult visitors. 11 out of 10 stars :)
