I am passionate about Leuven and Mechelen, I work as a tourist guide to show these cities how I live and feel them.
Did you know that Mechelen was once capital? What do the Golden Boy and Opsinjoorke statues represent? Through this tour you will discover the hidden charm of Mechelen, a religious and picturesque city of Flanders. His Grote Markt, the City Hall, his Gothic churches with his paintings by Rubens and Van Dyck, the cathedral of San Romualdo and more. On the tour we will visit the following points: - Grote Markt - Margarita Palace of Austria - Sinte Mettetuin - Vismarkt - St. Rumoldo Cathedral - Church of St. Catherine (we will enter the church) - Beguinage - Gardens of the Abbey of San Truiden - Church from San Juan (we will enter the church) - Busleyden Museum The minimum reservation for this tour is 2 (two) people. GuruWalk allows you to register the reservation but if on the day of the tour there is only one person registered I will proceed to cancel the tour.
Between the Schepenhuis building (Tourist Office) and the statue of Margaret of Austria in the Grand Plaza (Grote Markt). I use a lanyard with the initials "IV".
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
