Tour description

On this tour we will see Kyiv's main square - Maidan, which is packed with Kyiv's most iconic monuments such as the INDEPENDENCE COLUMN, the MONUMENT TO THE FOUNDERS OF KYIV, PECHERSKI GATE and more. We'll then walk to ST. MICHAEL'S CATHEDRAL known for its architecture and golden domes. Close to it stands ST.ANDREW'S CHURCH, which tops Kyiv's most adorable street, St Andrew's Descent. A few blocks away is the STATUE of the chief of Ukrainian Cossacks’ Army BOHDAN KHMELNYTSKYI. The highlight of our tour is Ukraine's oldest standing church and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, ST SOPHIA CATHEDRAL. We'll then head to the invincible GOLDEN GATE, which has never been conquered by Kyiv's enemies. Next to the Gate sits the STATUE of the wisest ruler of Kyivan Rus', the GRAND PRINCE YAROSLAV OF KYIV.

Yellow Pecherski Gate in Maidan Square (also known as Lach Gates, Mykhailivs'ka St, Kyiv, Ukraine, 02000) across Khreshchatyk street from the Independence Column. Go to the Independence Square and look for the yellow arch with the black and golden Archangel Michael with a sword. LIADSKI/ PECHERSKI GATE, which stands in Kiev’s main square Maidan (Independence Square). It is a yellow and white Arch topped by the WINGED BLACK AND GOLDEN WARRIOR ARCHANGEL MICHAEL, who is holding a sword and a shield in his hands. PLEASE NOTE that our meeting place IS NOT the tall Independence Column topped by a woman figure but a LOW YELLOW ARCH topped by a man figure which is yacross Khreschatyk street.
