Hi there, I'm Alex the local Ammani tour guide behind Free Walking Tour Amman. I studied nursing and history, and have a passion for culture, politics and religion. It was when I showed friends around Jordan that I discovered my love and aptitude for providing tours and, after their positive feedback, I decided to begin providing professional tours. It’s a job that gives me a lot of satisfaction. Being able to inspire people and broaden their knowledge while building bridges between cultures all through my story telling is extremely rewarding. My job is to ensure people have the best experience while exploring this country whether that’s during my tour or following it. My working life spans many different industries which definitely works in my favour as a tour guide. I can offer travelers a unique and often unseen glimpse of what life is really like here while we have fun and discuss the history and politics of the region.

About the Tour

Join us on this tour to discover the traditional taste of Amman.

Meeting opposite of the Roman Theatre, we’ll get know to each other as we head towards its panoramic view where we will explain the history of the city and the stories that made it what it is now. We’ll then make our way through the maze of souqs, the cultural highlights of Downtown, along King Faisal Street where we might stop for Kanafeh at the infamous Habibah and check out pictures of ancient Amman in Downtown’s oldest building.

Finally, we will make our way to the colorfully decorated Al-Kalha stairs where we’ll enjoy a traditional drink and end the tour.

Some of the stops included in the free tour:

- Roman Theatre

- Vegetable Souqs

- Old Cinema

- The oldest building in Amman

This tour is fantastic to introduce you to the history and the culture of Amman without any filters.
