Marhaba! I'm Mujallie aka Alex, the local Ammani tour guide behind Free Walking Tour Amman. I was born and raised here in Amman, but I also spent a big chunk of my childhood in other countries and with other cultures. Which combined with my studies and knowledge of the area and its history and my passion for culture, politics, and theology. That I'm able to introduce to newcomers and visitors our country and our city. It was when I showed my friends around Jordan that I discovered my love and aptitude for offering tours and after their positive feedback I decided to start offering professional tours. It is a job that gives me a lot of satisfaction. And fortunately I made lots of friends giving this tour and hope to make more. My job is to ensure that people have the best experience while exploring this country, either during my tour or after it. And my work life spans many different industries, which definitely help reaching that aim. Moreover I can offer travelers a unique and often invisible insight into what life is really like here. All the while having fun and discussing the culture, history and politics of the region.
We should meet at the Plaza of the Roman Amphitheatre, and there I'll be a young looking guy, mostly wearing or carrying a moto helmet.
Then we go up to the roof of the hotel of Amman Pasha to see the distinctive view of old Amman to introduce each other, I will then introduce the ancient and modern history of Amman, the interesting stories of the culture and the region, and the recent and ancient events that helped shaping it.
depending on your level of interest this summary can be anywhere between few minutes and a bit close to an hour.
I give the tour objectively and without any barriers and from objective, historic and scientific points of view. No Filters.
Then the tour begins by walking in the oldest main street in Amman, passing by the Roman Bath house, before we pass through the oldest vegetable and food market in Amman to talk about it and try some of the beautiful treats it has inside.
You're free to stop to buy anything that you like during the walk. So bring some change and your bagsJ.
We will continue through the maze of souqs of Downtown, pass by some pretty pigeons and meditating tailors and our oldest mosque (bring some more conservative clothes if you wanna take a look inside) and talk about it and about the other interesting cultural bits that we'll see along the way. With a dark note here and a funny fact there, you will be able to see our culture through magnifying glasses while walking through it.
Finally we'll pass by the most famous restaurants and downtown's oldest building to see the old architecture and look at pictures of Old Amman, how it was and how it is now.
before ending the tour in one of the cafes or bars of Jabal Lweibdeh or Jabal Amman the colorful youthful neighborhoods full of graffitis and murals and my fellow like-minded people.
Meeting point: Open in Google Maps
How to find me: In the plaza of the Roman theatre. Probably on one of the benches in the shade:)

I recommend Mujallie 100%! Punctual, kind and so well informed! It was a pleasure to discover Amman with him. He answered to all our questions and curiosities. Also he speaks many languages which makes everything easier!
We had a great time with Mujallie on the night tour of Amman this evening! His style of delivery was relaxed, funny, and made us feel at home in the city. He took us for a walk around the hub of Amman at closing time, and we loved the chance to experience the place at nighttime, as well as sample some of the fresh produce at the food markets. There was no pushing us to buy things, or stopping at specific stores for personal kickbacks, just wandering around the streets, learning as we went. We are grateful to Mujallie for his introduction to this vibrant city, and will be using his tips and suggestions to shape our day tomorrow. Take this tour if you arrive late into the city and want an instant flavour of life here, & you can thank me later 😉 Thank you Mujallie, yours was the best tour we took this trip 😊
Tour muy interesante con un enfoque diferente a los tours tradicionales turísticos. Explicación y visión propia de la historia jordana. Paseo por el zoco muy auténtico. Merece la pena
