A journey through Cordoba history
I am a history lover and student of the discipline. I have grown up taking walks throughout Córdoba, listening to stories and legends from every little corner. I am passionate about literature and combining it with the vice of history, I have come out: an explosive combo. I also love teaching, seeing the emotion on other people's faces when discovering new knowledge and knowing that I am transmitting the cultural legacy of my ancestors.
Córdoba is a historical city par excellence, and I, as a lover of history, come to present you with a tour through time.
Walking through the streets of the historic center we will transport ourselves in time , we will discover the ins and outs and mysteries of monuments and places of interest. We will learn legends from other times already buried by the sands of time.
We will begin our tour in front of the town hall, locating ourselves in the vicinity of the Roman temple of Colonia Patricia Corduba. We will visit the forgotten Roman Córdoba and we will see ourselves immersed in the busy life of what was the capital of Bética.
We will continue discovering the Caliphate Córdoba , visiting the famous mosque and strolling through the labyrinthine Jewish quarter, home to the souk or the synagogue .
We will be transported to the 12th century and we will appreciate some of the Fernandina churches that the city houses, such as San Lorenzo or San Pablo .
Finally, we will travel to nineteenth-century Córdoba , seeing the neoclassical facades and the planimetry of a city that is the daughter of history itself.
A summary of the itinerary is as follows:
- roman temple
- bridge gate
- Roman bridge
- Abolafia Ferris wheel
- Mosque, Souk
- Different Fernandina churches
- Corredera Square
- Almodovar Gate
- and many other interesting places that we will see.
