Join our free tour in Spanish and learn about the fascinating history of the pearl of the Baltic. See the site of the start of World War II and the birth of the anti-communist Solidarity union during our walk through the historic center of Gdansk .
In past centuries Gdansk has always been an important trading port. Today, washed by the Motława River and picturesque canals, it amazes visitors with its charming medieval architecture , pier with spectacular panoramic views and elegant amber shops .
Our tour starts at the Long Market Square (Długi Targ) at the Neptune 's fountain - true icon of the city. It is there that we will learn about the history of Gdansk under the control of the Teutonic order and the glorious past as the "sale to the world of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth".
Then we will visit other emblematic sites such as the Gothic Town Hall , Arthur's court and the impressive Basilica of the Virgin Mary - the largest brick church in the world!
We will continue towards the old municipal gates, seeing the house of the executioner and the relicts of the medieval walls.
We will visit the famous amber museum - the most important export product in the area. Our tour concludes in front of the harbor crane - an amazing example of medieval engineering that will blow your mind!
