My name is Bruno. I was born in Brazil and raised in Boston, where I lived for over 20 years. I returned to Brazil and decided to become a tour guide. I like to see people's reactions as we explore my city, a city full of hidden treasures. I try to provide a unique experience to all my clients. Escadaria Selarón, also known as the 'Selaron Steps', is a set of world-famous steps in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They are the work of Chilean-born artist Jorge Selarón
Built in 1723 it was one of the main sources of water in the city. A couple centuries later would be used as part of the tram line to the Santa Teresa Tram.
Built in 1979, this church definitely dazzles with a breathtaking interior.
The Monastery of São Bento do Rio de Janeiro is a historic monastery located on Morro de São Bento, in the center of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is one of the main monuments of colonial art in the city and in the country.
Praça Mauá is a square located in the Centro neighborhood, in the Central Zone of the city, with an area of around 25,000 m².
Largo de São Francisco da Prainha, popularly known as Largo da Prainha, is a square located in the neighborhood of Saúde, in the Central Zone of the city. This is where we'll end our tour with a cold drink and also a great place to have something to eat. Definitely a lot of options to choose from and definitely try some local food.
Pedra do Sal is a historical and religious monument located in the neighborhood of Saúde, near Largo da Prainha, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is where the Pedra do Sal Quilombos Remaining Community is located.
Cais do Valongo is an old pier located in the port area of Rio de Janeiro. Built in 1811, it was a place for the landing and trade of African slaves until 1831, with the prohibition of the transatlantic slave trade.
This diverse large mural by Eduardo Kobra was created to celebrate the 2016 Rio Olympics.
From here we'll walk to our final destination.
This is where we'll end our tour. This is where we'll try some local street flavors at the most traditional Farmers Market in the country.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
