Free Tour Berlin and the Culture of the Car
Hello! I am Martín, Argentine, I am 37 years old and since 2019 I live in Berlin. Since I can remember I like cars, and I love to travel, so this tour is the combination of my two great passions. As a specialized journalist I worked for more than 10 years testing cars and writing in magazines, and as a curious person, since I arrived in Berlin I have investigated places and stories in order to offer something unique. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Tour description
Germany invented the car: can you imagine discovering Berlin through the history of the automobile? This tour is unique in the German capital and the best thing is that... you don't have to be a car freak to enjoy it.
We begin the tour where the patent for the first automobile in history was delivered, a few meters from where many years later the first traffic light in Germany was installed, which we are going to see. There we will talk about the origins of the automobile.
Then the future: we'll go over the new forms of mobility and how we relate to that. Does the ecology really matter to automakers?
The next stop is pure adrenaline: we visit the ruins of the fastest and most dangerous racing circuit in Europe during the Nazi era. Motoring and propaganda, tragedies and cars at 350 km/h.
Finally, an old tram workshop where some of the best classic cars of all times sleep. A simply irresistible place.
There, in the Moabit neighborhood, the tour ends.
IMPORTANT:
-You need a daily transport ticket zone AB (we move on foot and by train).
-To carry out the tour there must be a minimum of 6 participants.
If you are interested in cars and mobility, or are just curious, you cannot miss this tour. It is unique in Berlin!
