Mariana was a Masters student of history and therefore very proficient in the subject. Her command of English was excellent and she is quite energetic. I would highly recommend her tour. The Bom Jesus site was very nice and well worth the visit there.

Must do in Braga! Highly recommend. However, be careful, you have to climb all stairs to the church, but slowly with brakes and amazing fucts.

Our guide Mariana was already at the meeting point ahead of the time. On this tour, it was just my friend and I for nobody else had chosen to do the tour on this day. We had a fantasitic time walking up the stairway. Mariana has great knowledge about the architecure, history and cultural backgrounds of Bom Jesus do Monte. She explained in detail and answered all the questions we had. Even though the weather was a bit cloudy that day we had a marvelous view from the top over the city of Braga. Mariana provided us with an excellent tour of Bom Jesus - she is very knowledgeable and speaks excellent English! A very professional tour and we highly commend Mariana to anyone interested in seeing and learning about Bom Jesus. She obliged by starting the tour at the top which can be reached using the funicular railway - saves the hike up the steps!
