Cairo Food Tour

It was a good tour, Lula was interesting to talk to. The food was Egyptian fast food, though. Fine, but that should have been made clear, I would have liked healthier options.

Lulu was super friendly guide! She is warm, welcoming and has our best interests at heart. Very accommodating and would recommend her anytime! She really went out of her way to create a wonderful experience! 10/10!

I really enjoyed various Egyptian food. Guru Arkam gave us detailed and professional information with experiences. I hope to be back to Egypt to enjoy more activities with GuruWalk tour soon again. :)

Lulu was a fantastic guide. She is only 23 but she speaks perfect English and Spanish and she is very well informed about life in Egypt and across the world. She was an enthusiastic guide, taking us to so many places to taste the food, and asking what we liked so she could tailor some destinations for us. We really enjoyed our evening and meeting Lulu. I highly recommend this tour, make sure you are hungry when you start!

Ahmed was a fantastic guide from start to finish! From his conversation to his knowledge of the food, Egyptian culture and Egyptian life it truly was a pleasure to join this food tour! The places visited are often frequented by locals which makes it even more authentic! Such a fabulous evening!

We had a Cairo food tour with Akram Elsheikh. It was a fun filled evening of exploring the food culture in Cairo. Akram was a fun guide to hang out with - personable, informative and helpful. He took us to various places to eat, our favorite (and we are still think of it today) was the Abou Tarek Koshary (and rice pudding). Along the way, Akram showed us different parts of Cairo, and allowed us a glimpse of what the food culture and life in downtown Cairo is like. We enjoyed the food that we would not have known to try (or where to go to try). BTW, organizing the tour with Rami/Lulu was easy and they were very flexible and accommodative to my requests. Thank you!

She took us to amazing street food shops and we had way too much food, but tried so many items. A great way to get introduced to Egyptian food.

Please note this is not a free tour! There is a hidden note at the bottom that indicates that it’s 30 euro/usd per person. Despite being marked as a free tour on top. ($30 is pretty expensive given the amount of food my group ate and how inexpensive the food was.) Lulu was our replacement guide, substituting for the owner. She was great an enthusiastic especially around Ramadan. She listen to us after we said we don’t eat that much and started ordering less for us. However, when it came to collecting tip I was shocked to find it was $30//pp. it just feels deceiving to be on this platform.

Lulu was a lovely young lady who took us to very local places that a tourist would not normally find. We enjoyed a very varied selection of delicious Egyptian food. It was a lot of food! Arrive hungry! We would thoroughly recommend the tour.

Lulu was an excellent guide. Nothing was too much trouble and the amount of food we had was enormous. She showed us some nice places which we wouldn't have found on our own. She was fluent (and I mean fluent) in English and Spanish. I would highly recommend asking for Lulu to be your guide! Andy

With Hassan we had a great time, it was nice to walk around, listen to all the information and taste delicious local food, sweets and drinks.

The tour itself was perfect. Hassan was perfect and made sure i had the best time. I didnt like the fact that the organisation puts themself on Guruwalk as a free tour, while you get a message after booking that you will have to pay depending on how many people would be in your group. You dont know the ammountnin advance. I think they should tell you this before booking so that you can take that in consideration. So nothing bad about Hassan, he and the tour are great, only the advertising is a bit misleading in my opinion.

Lulu was very professional, knew all the options for a vegan, and would recommend her for the Cairo food tour!

This was an excellent tour - so much food! If you want to taste some really authentic Egyptian dishes this is the tour for you - the most amazing Garlic Chicken Shwarma, Koshary, Falafel, Ful and loads of sweet treats (I especially enjoyed the Arabian ice cream). And all washed down with a tamarind drink that tasted sublime. Hassan will take you to 6 or 7 local places and suggest the best dishes on offer. It’s all done at a relaxed pace and he’ll tell you about the history and architecture of the places along the way. Make this the first tour you do in Cairo and you’ll be back at the places to eat again and again!

Hassan gave us a fantastic walking tour! He was so friendly and informative, and even checked on our allergies. He took us to hidden gems we would have never found on our own, and gave us great recommendations for the rest of our trip in Egypt. It was a wonderful experience of genuine Egyptian hospitality. You gotta check this tour out!

I am still in a food coma! The food started with a big bowl of traditional Egyptian dish, koshari, when the waiter made a great show of how to prepare a sauce for the dish. Our tour guide was very knowledge and enthusiastic. He appreciated all interest about the Egyptian cuisine and answered all my questions. If you are a foodie or want to try local food, this is the tour for you!

Hasan showed us really good food and was very friendly! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who visits Cairo or Middle East for the first time, it is definitely worth it
