I cannot recommend this tour. While the guide, Kanii, was friendly and communication was generally polite, the overall experience was disappointing and felt uncomfortably close to a scam. A significant portion of the tour was spent in a shop where the staff aggressively pushed us to buy products. This stop felt more like a sales opportunity than part of a genuine city tour. We had no interest in shopping and would have preferred to spend that time exploring Nairobi. Even more concerning was the constant focus on payment. GuruWalk promotes a free-payment model where guests decide the value of the tour themselves. However, Kanii repeatedly stated during and after the tour that we were expected to pay 1,500 KES per person (3,000 KES total). This created unnecessary pressure and made the experience feel misleading. The tour was advertised as lasting approximately 2.5 hours, but it lasted only around 90 minutes. In addition, roughly 30 minutes were spent at the shop stop, which further reduced the actual sightseeing experience. Overall, the combination of a shortened tour, the unwanted shopping stop, and the repeated pressure regarding payment left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, the experience felt more focused on generating money than providing an authentic and enjoyable tour of Nairobi.
Kenni teilte uns zwei Tage vorher mit, dass die deutsche Tour nicht stattfinden kann und ob es ein Problem wäre, wenn sie auf Englisch ist. Wir haben die Tour dann mit Kenni auf Englisch gemacht und bereuten es nicht. In einer sehr interessanten Tour gab er uns viele coole Einblicke in die Geschichte und in die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Im Dialog konnte er all unsere Fragen beantworten. I did the cultural walk with my daughter and had a really lovely walk. The highlight was the view of Nairobi from the viewpoint of the KICC. I grew up in Nairobi and it was fascinating to see how much it’s changed and grown. Kenii was polite, had lots of interesting information to share and I learned new historical facts. I would highly recommend doing this tour. I have recommended it already to my cousin.

A me è arrivata la conferma di lasciare una mancia equa e che il tour è gratuito. Alla guida risultava un minimo per persona, abbiamo trovato un accordo ma è stata poco piacevole la situazione
